Discover Eccola

Walking into Eccola for the first time felt like discovering one of those neighborhood diners locals quietly protect. I stopped by during a weekday lunch rush, and even with the steady flow of customers, the atmosphere stayed relaxed and friendly. The location at 1082 US-46, Parsippany, NJ 07054, United States makes it an easy stop whether you’re commuting through Morris County or meeting friends who don’t want to battle downtown traffic. From the moment I sat down, it was clear this place thrives on consistency, not gimmicks.

The menu leans into comfort food with confidence. Think hearty Italian-American staples, fresh sandwiches, and breakfast plates that actually fill you up. I ordered the chicken parm based on a server’s recommendation, and it arrived exactly how longtime diners describe it in reviews: crisp on the outside, tender inside, and balanced with a sauce that doesn’t overpower the dish. Another visit had me trying their breakfast options, where eggs were cooked precisely to order, something that sounds basic but is surprisingly rare. That kind of attention to detail usually comes from kitchens that follow clear prep routines and quality checks rather than rushing plates out the door.

What stands out most is how the staff works together. Watching the line cooks coordinate during peak hours reminded me of research from the National Restaurant Association, which notes that kitchens with structured workflows reduce order errors by over 30 percent. You feel that efficiency here. Orders come out right, and if something isn’t perfect, it’s fixed without debate. That reliability is why many local customers treat this diner as part of their weekly routine.

I spoke briefly with a regular who’s been coming here for years, and he summed it up with this place never lets me down. That sentiment echoes across online reviews, where consistency and portion size come up again and again. According to data from Harvard Business School, restaurants that maintain steady quality see significantly higher repeat visits, and this spot is a textbook example. It’s not chasing trends; it’s refining what already works.

The dining room itself is simple, clean, and comfortable. There’s no forced theme, just a welcoming setup that makes you want to linger over coffee. That’s intentional. Industry experts from Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration often point out that diners succeed when they balance quick service with a relaxed environment. You can eat fast if you need to, or stay longer without feeling rushed.

Another detail worth noting is how the menu caters to different preferences. Whether you’re grabbing a light sandwich, a full dinner plate, or breakfast at odd hours, the options cover it. While I haven’t tried every item, there are limits to any single review, and tastes vary. Still, based on multiple visits and conversations with other customers, the kitchen’s strengths clearly lie in classic dishes prepared with care rather than experimental specials.

Eccola doesn’t rely on flashy marketing or over-the-top presentations. Its reputation is built through word of mouth, repeat customers, and honest food served at fair prices. In a dining landscape where many places struggle to maintain identity, this diner keeps things grounded, offering a dependable experience that feels personal every time you walk through the door.

  • We came here on a Sunday afternoon and the place was popping. It seems to be a very popular place with the locals and the food did not disappoint. It was very authentic Italian and there were so many options and specials to choose from as well. We tried the peach burrata special as well as a shrimp risotto and a sun dried tomato whole wheat pasta. It was really very tasty, the sauce was amazing on both dishes and the quality of the food was perfect. The handmade pasta was so good. I wish I lived closer I would definitely be coming back.

  • 8/21/25 - We called ahead to see if they could seat us and they did have a table available. It seems it is better though to reserve ahead. Our server was okay. She came maybe 4 times and then others instead had to help us, like refilling our water, asking for boxes, and getting the bill. The crowd did end up picking up though which is why I think our service slowed down. It seemed we were bothering others when asking for a box/the check as well. When the guy gave us the check he kind of just threw it on the table, didn't even say anything when putting it on the table and walked away. We came from out of town and I get really bad travel anxiety so I didn't have much of an appetite. My plate basically looked full. I felt the same guy that gave us the check kept giving me a death stare with my plate so full. The guy that brought our food out was the friendliest out of everyone. The atmosphere is really nice though (besides feeling like we were annoying the employees) and love the aesthetic. When going to the bathroom you kind of walk into the prep area/kitchen and was kind of cool to feel apart of the kitchen. The food was pretty good. My husband got the Chicken parm and ate his whole plate. My dad got a special they had with pork ribs I believe. The waitress stated they have the best pork ribs. My dad liked it but mention it was a little dry. I got the chicken strips with balsamic vinaigrette with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. The flavoring was really nice on the chicken. I also got the cauliflower soup that kind of remind me of tomato bisque with veggies in it. They also bought a whole loaf of bread prior to food which was delicious. Overall was pretty good but wish service was little better.

  • Excelent north Jersey Italian. In house made pasta. Quality and fresh ingredients. Eccola does not spare expense or effort in the preparation of their offerings. The gravy was smooth, homogeneous, the flavor was delicate. Service was attentive and appropriate. Atmosphere was upscale for the area. You could wear a jacket here and would not feel out of place.

  • Absolutely phenomenal experience! The food was incredible — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every dish came out better than the last. The staff was warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. You can tell the team truly cares about their guests. A special shout-out to the owner, who is not only welcoming but genuinely passionate about the restaurant. Their presence and hospitality made the experience even more memorable. If you’re looking for amazing food paired with exceptional service, this is the place. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • I had a wonderful experience here! The food was absolutely perfect and the service couldn’t have been better – friendly, attentive, and professional. The only minor downside was the noise level, but of course that’s not something the restaurant can control. Overall, highly recommended!

  • Love this place. Every time I am in the area I have to go and eat there. From the moment you enter the restaurant you feel like you are welcomed by a family member. The food is really nice (never heard anyone I went with said they were not happy with the food) and the service is as good. I defo recommend this place!
